Pacman KitKat Camera Stopped, USB Mode

I just installed today's nightly build and noticed 2 issues:
1) "Unfortunately, Camera has stopped". Occurs every time I try to open the Camera app.
2) USB: "Connected as a media device". This is good and expected. However, switching to "Mass storage (UMS)" appears to work, though the notification is set to "Connected as an installer" and when I try to open the "Removable Disk" in Windows, it says "Insert disk". I would expect to see sdcard1 being mounted as that disk.

I would have posted this under "development" in the pacman thread, but the site says something to the effect of my status is amateur. And I didn't see any pacman Q&A thread.

I did a clean install of the ROM with a factory reset and clearing all caches. I did NOT install gapps nor did I create any accounts or connect to the internet. I skipped everything and when straight to check those 2 issues.

Google Camera SD Card
After installing "Google Camera", it DOES open, but says "Insert an SD card before using the camera." even though sdcard1 is accessible in "File Manager".
And I do see the result from the known camera exposure issue. EDIT: where pressing on the screen causes the exposure to either go all high or all low (testing in my dark room pointing at my monitor).
Also to add, after "pac_ruby-nightly-20140829" I tried "cm-11-20140823-UNOFFICIAL-ruby" and that at least opened the camera I think.
I also just now put on "ev_ruby-4.0.0-iaceo_062014" and the camera opens and exposure seems fine, but it also has the "insert sd card" message and UMS also won't make my sdcard1 accessible in Windows.

Internal Storage Issue
HUGE! I found the cause of the camera crashing (not exposure issue) and not being able to mount.
After restoring the old CM10, I had issues with that now and found the "internal storage" was not showing anything and everytime I tried to mount it, it would try and then revert back to nothing.
I don't know when it happened, and clockworkmod didn't have an option to format it, so I installed TWRP and formatting EVERYTHING, then after flashing CM10, it worked fine. I then wiped everything again and flashed pacman and that also worked (no camera crash and USB mounting success).

Unhappy GPS
Add on another issue: GPS.
Was going to use Sports-Tracker except the GPS signal was flat. I rebooted, deleted data, nothing helped.
I also tried My Tracks and it sat waiting for GPS.
I also installed GPS Time and the GPS status: No satellites.

I also noticed the phone runs rather warm. I didn't bother looking to see if it was being overclocked or anything. In 30 minutes, the battery drained from 100% to 80%.

This is enough for me to flash back to my previous JB ROM. It wasn't flawless, but suits my needs better. I may reconsider kitkat in the future, but will be keeping my eye out on a comparable LTE-capable phone.

GPS Continued
UGH! So I reverted back to the old CM10 JB and would you believe it, GPS wasn't working there either.
I'd even wipe EVERYTHING with TWRP and find it so odd why this sort of thing happens.
I installed "GPS Test" to get the specifics of what is happening, but it wasn't even pulling any "visible" satellites.
Anyway after some more wipes and reinstalls, it finally worked. So I reflashed pacman and that is ALSO now working. Go figure.

OH MAN, I was looking at PAC Performance... who needs CPU-Z. PAC does/has it all.

Thumbs down GPS Issues
Speaking too soon. Seems GPS is still an issue. I'll notice the status-bar icon come up after boot and just stay there. I am thinking that may be the cause of the high phone temperature.
Using GPS Test, I'll find it comes up with a number of satellites "In View", but pretty much get 0 "In Use".
I did a logcat via USB ADB while it was open and let my phone display turn off to see what else happened and the messages kept coming through:

And now after waking it back up and going back into the GPS Test, It shows 0 "In View".
GPS surely seems to be having issues. Once I disable/reenable, I get a bunch back "In View", but hardly any "In Use". There have been times I'd probably have maybe 8 "In Use".

Still seeing issues after many reinstalls and setting changes where GPS would just stop.
I'd also "Clear" and "Update" "AGPS" in "GPS Test".
I'm finding that there seems to be a correlation of the fails with "Airplane Mode" being set and/or Settings->"Location Access":"Wi-Fi & mobile network location" being unchecked.

I don't use the phone's cell service feature so I always have had Airplane Mode set and manually turn on wifi so as to not waste energy consumption.
I also would leave wifi & mobile network location unchecked because I just want the internal GPS to be used and not cellular service triangulation and wifi pinpointing estimation and that's how I had it with the official CM10.
But now when I leave GPS Test open and wait and wait and wait and eventually turn off airplane mode and eventually wifi/mobile network location (and test the inverse), only then does it come back to life.

Something doesn't seem right there. And mind you, this is on CM10.2 now that I reverted back a version, but I have a strong feeling it would be the same with KK and I think I found it to also be true in 10.1.

Back to CM10 to stay for now.
It started to pull satellites from the start and within probably a couple of minutes, it had 9/10 with an accuracy of 13ft while indoors.
There is at least a definitive option to choose the "GPS source" (only option is "Use Internal GPS")
