I am aware that the app changes values that will improve the battery life as well as keep the phone cool but what I am worried about is the fact that if I install this app and apply the tweaks, will I be able to revert the values back to default if I decide to uninstall the app? Or is there any option to backup/restore default values? Thank You.

I uninstalled the non-flat version, installed the flat version, activated it in xposed, rebooted, etc. I selected settings/temp in status bar (Xposed) and toggled the setting "display as" from F to C a couple of times and it set as Fahrenheit. So I am good now.
