Hi guys there is a lot of media coverage on facebook messenger apparently accessing your phone, audio video camera etc without your knowledge is that actually true does android work like that or is it just media being media.

Yes it's true. The media is just being the media. In addition, there are many articles as to why Facebook requires access to your phone, media, contacts, etc.. http://mashable.com/2014/08/11/stop-...pp-permissions

Facebook is one of those apps that kills battery life and access all kinds of data on your device. It's a little disconcerting for some. For most tech savvy users, the best and safest way to use Facebook is with your mobile browser.
