Hey, I am using Lollipop themed ROM by @FSadino. Partition used is 5.5 GB as you suggested previously. So is there a possibility that there are some residual files left from the previous ROM? Or can you suggest the best way to clear everything out formatting my phone and install everything over new? I can do that, if it will work

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
AJ

5.5Gb = 5120Mb

If your app size is 1Mb you can have 5120 apps in your storage
If your app size is 5Mb you can have 1024 apps in your storage
If your app size is 5.5Gb you can have only 1 app in your storage

I can't understand your problem...

Dear @FSadino,

With all due respect Sir, I do understand these basic calculations very well. What I am trying to say is that memory is getting full suddenly even though there are not so many apps installed. So my question is that is there a possibility that the process for increasing the memory did not go well and there are still some residual crap files remaining from my old ROM on my memory which are occupying still a significant amount of space on the internal memory partition and because of that I am getting the memory full notification all the time?

I hope you understand now what I am trying to say! And I also hope that you can tell me the solution he he

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
AJ

@ajking
Your question is OT here.
This thread is about how to resize phone memry.
Not about how to clean your memory. Please post in the right thread.

Thts nt the partition issue. Everything is fine with partition as well as rom. Thr must be sum kind of app which is leaving junks behind or sum kind of residuals. Try using sdmaid to clear all junks and residuals.

You just need to follow all mention steps in order to change Scatter File and EBR files

Its very important to take nandoid backup because you will lose all your data
Code:
- Make a nandroid backup with recovery (CWM or TWRP - not stock)
- Create new EBR files with EBRTweak
- Put the new EBR files in a folder with scatter file of your ROM
- Check that you installed USB Preloader driver (necessary for Flashtool)
- Download the latest version of Flashtool.
- Run Flashtool, load scatter file, select DOWNLOAD OLNLY mode, select DOWNLOAD and after 2 second connect the phone (OFF and without battery) to the PC. If flash didn't star leave teh phone connected and insert the battery.
- After flash completion switch on the phone in recovery mode.
- By the recovery restore the Nandroid backup
. By the recovery clear the cache and dalvik.
- By the recovery reboot the phone in standard mode.
- Wait that the phone complete the boot.

New Scatter-File Address

Be sure - USB-Debugging on Phone is on and all proper USB-Driver are installed!

Tools you need:

Let's Start

1. Start EBRTweak and select size for your partition.
Please remember, size from Userdata is included.
EBRTweak create for you the new EBR-Files.

Example to 2.5GB

Your Userdata is 1GB. We increase the new size to 2.5GB, then the Userdata have 2.5GB.
1GB before plus 1.5GB from Fat-Partition = 2.5GB = A0000000 Hex Address!

2. Rename your EBR1.bak & EBR2.bak to EBR1_org/ EBR2_Org.
3. Rename your Scatterxxx.txt to Scatterxxx_Org.txt.
4. Next open the Notepad++ and load your Original Scatter.
5. Open Windows Calculator in Hex-Mode and add to your usrdata Address the new Address (38380000+A0000000=D8380000).
6. Look at the userdata bzw. FAT Entry. Change only the FAT-Entry to the new Adress and save it.
Please proof it - be sure you have the correct new Address.

Enclosed you will found the Addresses to change.

7. If you are finished, save the new Scatter to Scatterxxx_2_5.txt and copy the new EBR1 & 2
and the changed Scatter in your "!Files_to_FlashTools" Folder. Rename it to EBR1_2_5/ EBR2_2_5.

If you have newer Processor (MT 659x) or you have created your Backup with MTK v.2.53, than you have the newer Scatter-File.
So, you have to add the new Size to Linear and also to Physical Address.
The changed Linear & Physical-Addresses must be replaced in Fat-Partition.

Tipp: You can try the calculating with your Original Scatter.
The most have Hex 40000000 = 1GB. Also add this to your Linear - and then to your Physical Address.
The correct Result you see under Fat-Section!

For the Partition-Size on Fat-Partition you can use 0x0 as Size.

How to use "EBRTweak"

Step 1: You need EBR1 and EBR2 files from your original stock rom

Step 2: Download EBR Tweak (Included on FSadino_EBR_Changer_Kit)

Step 3: Put EBR1 and EBR2 files in the same folder of the program

Step 4: Now its time to run the program and select the new size to
your phone storage, remember that your internal sd storage will get smaller

Step 5: It's done, you have made two new EBR files (green rectangle) and
two backup files (red rectangle).
