Battery life depends on usage scenarios.

Yes and it seems my usage is a lot like yours. I just put my batter to charge with 4% left, 3 hours screen time, but with 1.5 hours of talk time. How much talk time do you have?

OMG people don't be naive. Open your Mlais M52 cover and find out if you can put thicker battery.
And 4600 mAh should be a lot thicker than stock battery.

Also S/N are the same as stock battery. Pure fake.

A member bought it, figured $12.99- is cheap enough to give it a try. He'll report back, even though i unfortunately believe you are right.

Oh no doubt its not 4600 mah.. I never expected that, but If it is even a bit bigger than the stock battery that would be nice. If not at least I have a spare battery for travel.

Could this battery be true?
Idk, but seems to good to be true, right?

No probably not true, but if you want to give it a chance you should buy it from their Aliexpress store, at least that way you have buyer protection, and comes to the same price because vifocal charges shipping on their own website but not on aliexpress.

I'm getting 2 M52's in the mail tomorrow, one for me and one for my dad. I'm going to stay with KitKat until Lolipop is stable. I will report back on battery life and quality of them.

I think batteries take time to calibrate. I have been on 1% for last 30 minutes of constant use. overall it seems very decent in terms of battery time, though I have had heating issues with it

not sure if this applies to everyone, but here is a trick i use whenever i get a new phone:
i charge the phone full, without using it, or at least 90%
for the first 24-48 hours: after that i use the phone a bit, then i charge it
the calibration might be screwed up a bit, but usually the battery gives me good standby times this way...

again, this is just a hack, no scientific knowledge behind this, might just backfire.

note that only do this in the beginning, in the long run constantly charging and discharging is very bad

Unfortunately these update tools don't seem to play nice with Windows 10. I can't get any of them to even open or work right no matter what I do. I'll see if I can find another computer running an earlier version of Windows to try it but it seems like the update might not be worth bothering with at the present time given the insane list of game-breaking bugs.

I've finished the testing of the M52's battery. The tests were done on two replacement batteries that I purchased + one from a friend's M52.

All the batteries were charged by a charger that has the correct CC/CV curve and can charge to 4.35v. The two that I bought, both had over 10 cycles including a deep initial cycle. They were charged to their rating of 4.35v at a initial charge setting of 0.3mA. They were then given 5 minutes rest then discharged with a load of 0.2mA.

The results were interesting, the best figure was 2387mAh Worst was 2201mAh.

Of course not going to get anywhere near those figures when installed in the M52, firstly on three M52 s that I know of, and I presume it correct, they only are charged by the phone to an indicated 4.2v. Which is on my phone actually less when I measure the battery on a DMM. In fact I believe that my phone has problems with the charger.

I believe that when the indicator light goes green (90%) it actually indicates that the CC phase of charging is complete, it is at this point that I think the charger is having problems with the CV phase of charging, getting stuck, not finishing or jumping after a long time on something like 92% to finished in less than a minute. I am not going to do any more testing till the Lollipop update arrives. If it still happens I will test my phones charging and see exactly what is happening during charging.

I have sent Mlais an e-mail asking why if they have a 4.35v battery they only charge it to 4.2v but to date no reply.

To explain the picture, I forgot that the discharger had a time limit that I had set, so the tests were done in three phases of 320mins 305mins then to the end.

Thanks for doing the test! I have BatteryDr. installed, and when the charging shows 100% it tells me that the phone is now trickle charging for another 10 minutes for improved battery usage. Makes any sense?

What do you guys think of the audio quality with headphones?

Not good enough IMO.

Cheers!

I presume what you see is the last bit of charging which would be at a low level. But if the charge complete message has displayed then there should be no trickle charge after, bad idea.

The problem with the percentage figure is that it is simplistic, shows only part of the story. Voltage interpretation while discharging, but I presume data from the charging circuit + voltage whilst charging.

The way a lion battery is properly charged is firstly a constant current is applied, the battery's voltage will climb until it reaches the target voltage, at that point the charging current starts slowly lowering, leaving the voltage at its target. The current lowers till it reaches a figure set at 10% of the initial charge current. At which point the charger should stop charging.

I believe that this phone charges the battery till it reaches 4.2v (percent meter says 90%.) turns light green as it goes into the constant voltage phase. This very important phase should take a fair bit of time as the internal resistance (bat) increases and the current lowers. I have a Panasonic data sheet somewhere with some graphics that illustrate the above. I could post a pic of that?

If BatteryDr shows the current level/voltage you could check to see if it actually does the correct charge method.

So the way it works on mine is,at 90% it's green but still shows it's charging then it says 100%,and BatteryDr says 10 minutes trickle charge. Then it says done, and the phone's internal message system says Disconnect charger or something like that i can't remember. What's interesting if this makes any sense, is that the battery is lasting longer then it did when i first got the phone, if that makes any sense. And my usage hasn't changed.

Not sure why Bat'Dr says trickle charge. Once the charge current reaches its set value it should just stop. But in the order you say, it's fine.

If what I presume is correct and the green light is an indicator of the CV phase, then roughly the CV phase should very very roughly take as long to complete as it took to get from empty to the green light showing. So 90% till charge completed should take as long as 1% to 90%. Very roughly

What you say about your battery lasting longer is as it should. That is why in my tests they had at least 10 cycles.

A battery should be deep cycled first of all (fully charged then discharged almost flat) I have experimented and deep cycled a couple or more times first off to see if it did much good, but on the cells I tried (Panasonic 18650s) it did not seem to make much difference.

Here is a chart that might make things clearer (red lines easier to follow)

    Rooting M52 with Lollipop

    PREAMBLE:
I originally came up with a way of rooting a M52 with Lollipop installed. It worked but was far too complicated. In this thread I have made some replies about a method that should enable root. I decided to see if those ideas would actually work and would also provide root for the phone.

I tried and found a way, I found some volunteers for the method, unfortunately in over 60% it did not work because of a problem with bootloader on the phone. Therefore with the collaboration of citta, the method below was tested and finalised. With some more work from the volunteers.

Citta deserves a lot of thanks because it is with his collaboration that this exists. He has also graciously hosted the recovery image file and found the links for the other items needed.

All the other volunteers, on this forum and elsewhere also deserve thanks for putting their time and phones where my ideas went.

The method described below is the one that seems to offer the best chance of working on the M52 there are no guarantees, And there have been failures. If you are unsure of your ability or anything please wait till someone comes up with a one click solution.

The method described is not unique and I make no claims in that respect. Conjecture followed by experiments.

As always please be aware that attempting to alter your phone can cause problems even to hard bricking your phone and having a costly paperweight. If you choose to follow anything I might say or write you do so entirely at your own risk. I take no responsibility for anything you might do after reading this. I do not encourage you or say to follow this, this is posted as what has been done to root an m52,
    -----------------------------------------------
Update: With the latest updated Lollipop. Most now can get into recovery with key presses. If that is possible on your phone ignore the steps in blue type.

    ------------------------------------------------------
Only if you know the risks and dangers and AT YOUR OWN RISK read the following.

    Summery

    1. Flash custom recovery with SP Flashtool
2 Access recovery mode on phone using adb
    3. In recovery mode, flash supersu zip to obtain root access

    -----------------------------------------------------------------
    Ok
    Install ADB and FASTBOOT.

Install USB drivers for ADB and Preloader Mode. There are a multitude of sites/articles some here on XDA and even on this thread. For this description I presume you will have them installed read up on the procedures. Know what to do and how to do them.

    Install Flashtools

On your phone install ES file Explorer

Copy your SuperSu.zip to I suggest the 'download' folder on your phone. Also copy SuperSu.apk to
    that folder.

Unzip the official rom 20150430_c211_jbl_a128_3m_hd_mlais official.zip into a folder.

Open the folder and rename the recovery.img file to recoveryoriginal.img.
Rename your downloaded custom 'recovery_ctr.img' to 'recovery.img' and copy it to the folder you have the official rom.

Ok now open flashtools and load the scatter file from the official .rom.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    OK. checkpoint.......

ctr recovery renamed and in the folder where the official scatter file is? Good carry on.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    In flashtools

Select recovery.img and ONLY the recovery.img. Nothing else should be ticked!!!!!!!! See cittas pic. Select download.

Again I presume you know the flashing procedure if not go and read up on it before you try anything.

Once flashed and rebooted. Enable debugging then connect to usb. Go to the folder where you have adb installed.

Now you need command prompt. If you have Windows 7 shift plus right click on the adb folder should bring up a menu with command prompt option (thanks to citta for that tip) XP its in the accessories menu.

In XP … type cd\ then enter type cd name of the folder adb is installed enter

However you do it you should now be in command prompt in the adb folder

In command prompt type adb devices................ you should see your phones id.

In command prompt type....... adb reboot recovery.... your phone should reboot into ctr recovery

    --------
update If you can get into ctr recovery by key press volup+power.
    -----------
In ctr recovery Select install zip …..next screen Install zip from storage/sdcard0 select the folder where you have placed supersu.zip and install it.

    OK press reboot.

Once your phone has rebooted go to your apps drawer and check for supersu icon. If it's there open the app and you should be good to go.

If not, open ES file explorer and go to the folder on you phone you have supersu.apk in, click on it and install. Again open the app and you should be good to go.

Hopefully it has gone well :xmint:

Hello guys. I recently tried to enable Miravision to our rom by extracting the apk from ecoo e04 aurora plus rom. I installed the folder with the apk in /system/app , and 2 libs associated with miravision already existed in the rom. The I added 2 lines that enable miravision at build.prop (I compared ecoo build.prop with ours)
and restarted but could not enable it. Then I found on androidiani.com forum a link with a flashable zip from recovery for the jiayu s3.
I flashed it and miravision is enabled now.
The link to download the zip is below.
