I just bought a HP slate 8 pro business tablet several weeks ago. But now I cannot enter into the Android OS. I think the images in the internal storage has been corrupted. But fastboot works well. I downloaded the update.zip from HP website. However, the restore image cannot apply to me device because the release date of my device is later than restore image.

When I applied the update.zip, it failed with error message "can't install this package over newer build". Do you know how to work around this problem.

I also tried to use CWM to apply update.zip. I also failed with "can't format unknown volume /external_sd".

I think one solution is to share with me your CWM backup if you have the same type of device.

Thanks for you concerns.

Can you share what CWM you used?
