In my case, the phone is a Kyocera Echo M9300. I'm not sure that should matter.

I've been using the phone (let's call this phone1) happily for years now. I have a CWM recovery partition. I've made and restored nandroid backups from within Recovery now and again successfully. The nandroid backup gets stored onto the sdcard.

I cracked phone1 glass. I had a phone2 of the same model because I am a developer wannabe. So I wanted to move over to using phone2. Phone2 also has CWM recovery on it.

1) I made a nandroid backup on phone1, the default one, not anything in the Advanced menu.

2) I moved the sd card from phone1 to phone2.

3) I restore that nandroid backup on phone2 from within CWM recovery.

4) Phone2 goes into bootloop.

In my mind, after step#3, phone2 should pretty much be identical to what I had going on phone1. However, since it is bootlooping whereas phone1 was not, this is not true. What am I missing?

I get the same behavior if in step#3 I only restore the system partition using the Advanced menu.

Thank you for reading!
