I'm trying to write-protect a micro SD card so that the android OS (or any apps on a tablet) can't delete files off of the SD card.

I've tried setting it to read-only in Windows, but I can still add/delete files from Android via 'My Files' or the Video player.

Is there a file system that is inherently read only on Android that I could use? Or any other way to set the microSD to read only?

I'm trying to distribute content to students via these SD cards, that I don't want accidentally deleted off of them. Thanks!

Anyone have any ideas about how I might lock a micro sd card from being writeable?

Still looking for a solution. I've tried:

-setting the lock button on a large-size sd card adapter
-changing to read-only permissions in linux
-changing to read-only permissions in windows

So far I haven't seen any effect in Android. Is there an android program that could set an entire card or individual files to read only?

I want the same functionality. I want to distribute materials and I don't want the card/files deleted or formatted away. I have search google extensively and all I find is how to change the permission from read-only to full write. How did it get read-only in the 1st place?
