The Orange SPV Smartphone PC20A from HTC is very similar to the xda in terms of bootloader, rom updates, etc. Has anyone played with the SPV? I have a few ideas that may be worth investigating.
It should be possible to use the SPV's camera on the xda as the connector pinouts should be the same.
The memory layout and bootloader commands are similar on the SPV and xda. Where would I look for the memory address of the Service provider unlock code on the SPV if they DO use the same layout? There is no memory search command in SPV bootloader as there is on the xda...

The pin-outs are not exactly the same. The connector is flipped 180 degrees.... HTC has a habit of making changes.. for example the connector on the iPAQ 3800 is different from the 3900 which is different from the XDA... all have the same connector but different pin outs..

I was not aware. And many sites on the net list only one set of iPaq>3800 pinouts. Please elaborate, so I can adjust the iPaq conversion section of the connectors page (http://xda-developers.com/connectors") accordingly.

I am very interested in this information: How do we find the service provider unlock code on the SPV ??
Serial cable is on its way from US to Europe with FedEx and I'd like to use it for something usefull. :D
The above question right above this posting was from me - just forgot to login...

Sorry guys... I mixed up my product numbers... I should have typed 3600 is different from the 3800...
I hope I didn't confuse anyone...
I was told from the only one besides Orange that I know of that can unlock the SPV smartphone that unlocking the SPV is different from unlocking a XDA. The code isn't stored in a register even though its also a HTC thingy.
Anybody got some knowledge to share ??
