Is it possible (when you unlock your XDA)to use the GSM op the xda on every network?for example the dutch KPN network?? :s

I'm thinking about buying a XDA but I have to be sure that I can use my old sim card(because i have contract for at least another year)

Cheers

Hey Jay,

Be sure that your XDA supports the GSM900 band. Both KPN and Vodafone (f.k.a. Libertel) use the GSM900 band in the Netherlands. America uses the GSM1900 band while for instance BEN and Dutchtone and some other providers use the GSM1800 band in the Netherlands. So, if you want to use KPN in Holland, be sure that your XDA supports the GSM900 band.

I.e, you can verify this by checking the band tab on the phone settings menu (Start, Settings, Phone, Band).

I own a t-mobile xda myself, which supports the GSM900 and GSM1900 bands. The problem was that is was sim-locked to t-mobile (BEN). After unlocking, I bought a Vodafone Sim and my problems are solved!

I use my XDA with a KPN-subscription and at works fine after either unlocking the phone of by-passing the simlock (on earlier software versions) as described elsewhere on this forum.

The settings you need are the DNS servers and APN :

DNS1 : 62.133.126.28
DNS2 : 62.133.126.29
APN : internet
IP : use server assigned IP

When asked for a username/password just tick the 'save password' box and click 'connect'. DON'T enter anything in the username/password fields!

Ofcourse you have the have a KPN subscription with 'internet everywhere' enabled.
