:D i was reading about the power mod guide thing on here about how u cant use the power cable in when u done the self powered usb mod thing so....

heres my version and it works ( not built it properly yet till tuesday as i need to go into town to maplins to get a button (as i need a push on push off button i only have a push and hold down one :(

btw warning! do not have the button pressed on while having the charger plugged and on in aswell dunno what it would do but itll add up to 10volts so i wouldnt try it if i was u :S

anyway heres my guide the buttons are baout £2 from maplins they do ones which light up when pressed in which is what im going to get hopefully if they have them in stock :) ill let you know what happend thanks for reading

the picture for this guide is here :)

all u do is solder the switch to the points in the diagram i made.

all u need is a soldering iron, steady hand, solder, thin wire, drill + spare £2 for a button + maybee a pair of plyers to do the button up once u put it in.

hope it works for u guys like it worked for me.

another thing u can use this thing for is....

when rom upgrading u can use the usbs power for when upgradeing CE but when u do the GSM part it says to turn off the power so all u have to do is click off the button on the cradle and there u go :)

But wouldn't the suggested low-drop diodes from the mod page (xda-developers.com/usbcharge) be better still? Doing it the way you suggest, one could still damage the computer's USB port (or the XDA adapter) if the switch was in the wrong position (i.e. adapter and USB connected).

yeah but i mentioned this in my 1st post but its alot simpler then people learing what diodes are. I know about phone scematics as i used to repair nokias and put leds in ect... but its just a simple version for beginners to try.

just have to remember if the buttons down its on and it its up its off.

or you could get a button from maplins or radio shack/tandys that when pushed in lights up so then you defently know its on + it makes the stand look cool lol 8)
