Does anyone know where I can obtain software to enable my Qtek 1010 (O2 xda)concatenation (long SMS messages sent as a number of short messages and then joined again at the reciever end). This is a standard feature on the Nokia 9210 and I really miss it.

Have you tried the program [sendSMS]?
check it out here:

the interface is in Arabic & English, by default it is Arabic and you can change it to english by clicking the button [E] under [Settings]

well, do you need it? I mean, the phone automatically should chop ut the messages into multiple linked sms's, each of length up to maximum 160 character.. (for me it worked fine for a while, my problems are in a separate subject here, but I'd like to mention this here anyway)

The phone will automatically try to split the SMS, but the carrier's network must have EMS support to handle such messages. Call your carrier for more information on what they support.
