My XDA is not charging.
In fact, when I plug the
external power unit, or in the cradle the battery doesn't charge and the software doesn't detect anything and no orange light on the top.....
The charger has been tested and it's OK....
I tried soft reset...
What do you think about it?
Let me know...

I had this problem yesterday!

When I attached my GPS it was working correctly only it didn't charge.

When I put it in my cradle it was syncing with my PC correctly, but it didn't charge either. Even when I placed my charger direct on my XDA it still wouldn't charge.

I did a soft reset and still had no luck just like you. So then I made a backup to my SD card, did a hard reset and voila! My XDA is charging! So I put back my backup and my XDA was where it was 15 minutes ago, except that it is charging now correctly!

I hope this solves your problem! Good luck.

is it an overcharging...?
A software bug...?
What do you think?
Can it happen again?
Thank you for posting...

This happened to my XDA too, but i've done a hard reset and it still wont work :( Anyone have any ideas? I did that same thing as others have done, i plugged it into my mates in-car ipaq charger bcos they have the same connector. My XDA is on critical battery, cant do much with it :(

FYI, I've had the opposite problem today... Phone always thought that it was charging. Even when disconnected from cradle / charger, the charge indicator light (both LEDs solid) would stay lit and Settings->System->Power indicated "Charging". After a while it became clear that it wasn't really charging itself byt drawing energy out of the air. Soft resets did not help. I backed up to SD, did a hard reset, and everything's fine now. I guess the charging system doesn't get "reset" when a soft reset happens, and so if something goes wrong there a hard reset is required.
