Automaticly ftp a folder of files

Is there an easy way of automatically transfering a folder of files to a ftp server, or a library somewhere which provides easy to use ftp functionality ?

You need to set a cron job (I'm 25 with over 10 years experience and I still giggle).

What I always do is open up a client, connect to ftp, then just drag and drop.
