View Full Version : My MDA is dead completely.... during downgrading

I tried to downgrading my MDA from 3.17 (with the latest RSU as well) to 3.14 but suddenly the connection between PC and MDA was failed and the MDA cannot connect to the PC again. The ROM downloading scheme was on the scheme so I then hard reset the MDA to see whether I can get back my OS.

No...it didn't, it just shows some lines on the scheme and no matter how many times I hard reset it, still not working. So I think my MDA is dead now.

Can you still enter the Bootloader mode?

(Hold power button while soft-resetting...)

Unfortunately not.

It only appears 2 empty boxes and a lot of horizontal lines.

Thats the end of this two month's old machine.

Use the SD-card method to get back up and running. See here (http://xda-developers.com/XDAtools) for details.

My bootloader version is 5.17. Will running the xdatools against this version ok? Because I read on your site that there's some issues with the 5.17 and up version. Thanks again for the quick reply.

I read a information from http://xda-developers.com/XDAtools/ as below:

"Presently, XDAtools deals with the ROM of the PDA side of your device only, it does not allow you to do anything to do with phone ROM upgrades (which are also called 'Radio Stack Upgrades' or RSU)."

If XDAtools doesn't support phone ROM, how we can re-flash the phone ROM by bootloader v5.17?

Thanks !

I was under the (possibly mistaken) impression this was a ROM problem. If not, the bootloader method will not help (but it won't make things worse either). We have no means of helping people with RSU problems. A number of fixes exist, and from the looks of it, each of these fixes helps a subset of the people in trouble, so try whatever fixes float around in this forum, I guess...

Sorry...

That's OK... thanks XDA developer Peter Poelman for quick reply !

I got one more question, how I can flash the CE ROM from bootloader v5.17 using XDATool. Because, I would like to flash back to O2 xda original PPC2002 before go there for repair.

p.s. I got the original ROM v3.17.3 from Jeff's kitchen and XDATool with Card Reader.

How I can use the SD method to flash back my xda to original PPC2002 ?

Thanks again !
