Has anyone used this software with the XDA? It looks awesome!
It says that if you have a device which uses the NMEA protocol to receive GPS signals then all you need is the software.
Is a GPS receiver built into the XDA? if not, whats the cheapest receiver that will work on the XDA that supports this protocol.

I've been using it for about 7 months and it really is great.
It uses a seperate "mouse" receiver that powers the xda and gps from the cigar lighter in the vehicle. I'd definately recommend it to anyone.
You can also use it without the reciever (on foot, etc)

Wow, that cool I didn't realise you could use it on foot aswell.
So if you can use it without the receiver when on foot, how come you have to use a seperate reciever when in the car ? does it require a stronger signal or something ?

I have destinator but it stays in the box as its maps are nowhere near as good as tomtom, also tomtom wins for program usage, speech and the speed camera warnings free addon.

Without the receiver it becomes a map you can zoom, but that doesn't know where you are...

Ahh right got ya, I thought he meant it showed where you were on the map.
Anyone got any recomendations on a decent cheap GPS receiver that works with the XDA then ?

I downloaded the sdk from destinator site and with a bit of file juggling you can use it as a pc based/laptop voice navigation system using the maps from you destinator ppc version cd.
