Memory Question

This might be sound like a daft question but is there any way to use the SD card for the main memory? Thus increasing it?

The sd memory does exactly that. You can install most programs directly to sd memory without impacting on main memory.

Well, yeah. But you still have only the main memory to execute the programs, and that doesn't in fact grow.

The new Symbian has a feature to execute programs straight from SD (some Symbian phones having only 1MB of main memory...), but WinCE/ PocketPC/Windows Mobile doesn't have that.

While on this subject, is it the chip design that prevents larger memory sizes as standard, or a marketing exercise.
