yes...the only versions you cant upgrade or downgrade using the exe file is Tmobile ROMS
the 4.00.10 and 4.00.16
the others can upgrade using exe...

Hi ...
I cooked and downloaded a ROM 4.00.11 and tried to upgrade a Qtek 1010 ... the XDA restarts and and error message tells that "Can't open USB/com port ......". Some one here said it's normal and that I have to redo it many times. I tried it over 10 times and the same is still happening. :(
Do I miss something ??
Thanks.

Hi Biso007,
Look at the IDIOTS GUIDE at:
http://www.xda-developers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3171
and follow the instructions thoroughly one by one and you can't go wrong, it did work for me, I was in the same situation.

It's dead simple... I was scared like you are, but if you follow the instructions as they are, you will see that you are not any more of an IDIOT than the rest of us.
In the begining I only used to play with .EXE files, there was/is no way out, so I had to resign myself to the fact of going to the next step, and blieve you me, if you do as the IDIOTS guide, not as bad as you may think.
The SD card and the Reader are not that expensive...

Hi Ritmo ...
Does it mean to totally give up the EXE method :?:
Now I wonder if it did ever work for any one here ... or it works in certain conditions ??

The .EXE ones only works for NON T-Mobile ROMs. If by 'mistake' you get a T-Mobile ROM, then you have got to use the .NBF or .NB1 upgrade/downgrade. After that, if you download NON T-Mobile ROMs than you can carry on palying with the .EXE ones...
Hope it helps.
