I have a 1 gig Kingston dataflash pc card type 2 ata flash card. It works fine in laptops but my ipaq 3660 in the pcmcia/battery jacket dont want to know, I have trawled the web for a patch/driver, it seems the Linux boys have it all sewn up, but nothing for the vanilla ipaq, any help appreciated.
p.s. I know that the system is "aware" of it, because I ran a program called card probe and this picked it up right away, it seems that the software in the ipaq is very choosy about its memory guests.

tru loking thru these links:
http://www.tjotala.com/hardware/storagebrick/default.htm
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/HandheldiPAQ/us/locate/48_1334.html
and apparently when you upgrade to ppc 2002 the problem will go away:

although I have somewhere at the back of my mind that I might have downloaded from US IPAQ news group the a/m driver ... few months ago, let me search for that

Thanks for that, however I have tried all those solutions, I have also tried on several ipaqs, several pcmcia sleeves and various os versions, the only way I can get the system to see it is to load the microdrive atadisk.dll, problem now is that I can only get half the storage space. I have also plugged the card into laptop and used partition magic, even that is now only reporting 50% of total space. Weird eh?

while using IPAQ I have been playing with SANDISK ATA flash cards od 1280MB memory ... no problem whatsoever on 37xx/38xx/39xx etc
maybe u should update to ppc2002 ... or format the card with different drive geometry, rather DO NOT use partition magic for that purposes but simple stuff like:
http://www.cnetx.com/Format/download.asp
(and follow the link)
or
http://www.pocketpccity.com/software/pocketpc/StorageTools-2002-4-5-ce-pocketpc.html
that might help - format in FAT16 etc, and those a/m tools allow for checking the card for hardware errors
