GSM Failure

Hi I hope you can help.

I switched on my XDA after flying back from Europe can no longer get a GSM connection. The XDA says that I am connected but I have no signal. I have tried a soft reset and hard reset. Both fail to get the signal back. When I tap on the phone icon in settings the timer comes up and sits there until the device powers off. In short I cannot get to the settings section.

I have seen a few bits on the forums about people loosening connections but only after changing settings. I don’t think I changed anything…?

My device.

64md RAM.
ROM Ver: 4.00.1 Eng
Rom Date: 16/05/03.
Radio ver: 4.21.00.
Protocol Ver: 32S54.

Will flashing to a new ROM do the trick?

Things have changed… slightly.

My XDA has gone truly nuts!! I docked it with my PC this morning. It is now sitting with what looks like the phone dialler but with the timer going round and round. The XDA is now not responding to any commands.

Please help, noting I have done has got me back to normal.
