Entering Wallaby Bootloader causes hard reset

On an AT&T Siemens SX56 I did the hold down the power button and soft reset to get into the bootloader. I only wanted the version number so I soft reset on the first screen. It caused the equivalent of a hard reset. I lost all of my data (fortunately I had a backup).

I probably should have mentioned that it is bootloader 5.22

I've made the same experiences.
It's normal, so you do not to be worried about this.
Somewhere in the forum, there is a thread about this.
