Not sure I didn't ask but I guess it would be the £25.00 per month one plus some data package as they all tend to be pop into your local store or ring them I'm sure they will know better than me

Looks nice enough but the screen seems a little small, also no mention of Bluetooth a much needed part of any phone these days.
But each to his own good luck with it

I suspect that these units are off the back of a lorry or something. It's just tooo cheap. :o
The guy's ID on eBay also has no rating, no feedback, and is not a verified user. You'd be MAD to buy from him without further info. I'm going to watch these bids closing out with interest...

yeah but if you live not far away its worth a try :) the guy said he has had 100 units and now oly has 30left! not suprised at this price.
even if they weref rom back of a lorry who cares lol you didnt know they were nicked init ;)
even if it gets blocked £160 for a 400mhz bluetooth pda not bad

The main problem is he has no rating on Ebay you may send money to his Paypal account and get nothing I've emailed him a number of times and got ... well lets just say odd replies.
I'd warn you all to be very careful indeed I've been had once before on Ebay and never recovered my money.
Having said that if one of you get one from him and its gen please contact me on my mobile number as I'll be away 07866 739331 and I'll get one too lol. (just realized I'm kind of saying you lot can take a chance SORRY) lol

Don't want to put anything down here I could be complained at for, but I do a lot of business on ebay and it just seems to good to be true.
Lets face it the o2 shops are only just getting these in and they want £350.00 on contract why would anyone have 100 (now 30) and be willing to sell them sim free for £160.00 delivered look at his other auctions too they are all top of the range phones.
Normally if it seems to be too good to be true it is.

I was offered several of these machines from this ebay seller and when I said that I worked in a nearby town and offered to call to collect the phones, the emails dried up and I've had no further contact since yesterday. I suspect this is a con.

With the name/address, you could look at the electoral role to verify....something like UKINFO 2003 or www.192.com might help....

At that price, if it all checks out I'm going to get two, but will get an extra one for you. I can sell it on ebay if anything happens, so wont lose out. What prices is he quoting everyone as he has quoted me £250, which is higher than posted earlier. If he emails me back will ask him about one of you guys been offered them for £160 and try and get that price.
Lets all cross our fingers

i have just picked up my xda 2 for £350 and i did not have to take out a new contract..i just upgraded on my old contract even though i have only been on the contract for three months..i pay £15 per month. Check with your local o2 store. I believe the rule is that you can upgrade to an xda 2 within your twelve months for the upgrade fee of £350 although you do have to wait 12 months if you had upgraded to the old xda.

really! :| im gonna go to my o2 shop this weekend and see if they will upgrade my sisters phone to the xda for £350 :| especially if the contract stays the same.
ill give my sister £50 to pay a few months bills too for her hassle if they allow it :D
ill post up what happens :)

Pardon my ignorance, will the O2 XDA 2 have the capbilities to connect in the US via GSM1900 or will another model of the XDA 2 be made for the US..?
gazzaman2k

MDA is the usa version but XDA2 is triband so it works on 900/1800/1900mhz bands so it will work in the us too :)
only parts it wont work in are places with 850mhz

PLEASE THIS IS A SCAM
I emailed this Ron/Carl or whatever his name is many times yesterday. Answers were good and all was well. I was stupid and paid him some money to send out an XDA2 to me. Once he got the money all emails stopped. Please don't be stupid like me, this is a scam. How can he have an XDA2 so cheap? Where did he get them when they have not been announced?
I just pray that all of those auctions that are up on ebay that people will retract their bids ASAP. He has a 0 rating for ebay and he just created his ID.
Just to let you guys know. Wait until they are in the stores.
THINK ABOUT IT...

Thanks for your words of warning. I'm so glad I hesitated and insisted on paying cash. No wonder he didnt reply to my emails. Sorry to hear about your misfortune though, as its never nice to be scammed. I am now going to save up and buy one Sim free from a real company in the new year. Maybe ebay should be warned about him, when I get home from work today I will email the highest bidder on the auction and let them look at our discussions.
Just goes to prove team work wins.

My local O2 shop is now prepared to let me have the handset (ahead of Saturday). However, as usual, the various O2 contractual restrictions prevent me getting one at a reasonable price.
Despite being a long term customer, Im disappointed to learn that:
1) Having upgraded to an XDA I within the last 12 months, I cant upgrade again.
2) By showing my commitment to O2 by taking out a line advance contract (pay 12 months upfront to get a small discount) I can no longer break this contract and restart a new one (keeping my number)
3. I was offered the opportunity to buy a 'sim-free' one for £450. On trying to run it through the till, the senior sales manager commented that its not possible, and O2 shouldnt have recommended that course of action.
4. The only way to get one now is to take out a brand new contract = £349 + 12x15 = £529.
Good old O2 - always looking after their existing customers!!

I bought an XDAII yesterday for £349 from my local O2 store. Two local stores had them in stock and were willing to sell them ahead of Saturday - I also bought an O2 X1 also launched Saturday free on contract or £200 sim free. They said that if I went for a more expensive monthly contract I could have the XDAII for £299.

I know this might be jumping the gun a little, but I really felt for the member who has lost out on this probable scam. So I have warned the winning bidder on ebay and also the highest bidders on his other 3 auctions. Also advised Ebay about this posible situation. I hope he is legit and everything works out, but think its a case of standing up for our rights as consumers.

Well I hate to say it but "I told you so"
Sorry to hear about someone loosing money. I paid a 10er deposit via paypal, I“ll be emailing them to get that returned too and warning paypal he is a scammer. They should all be shot ..............
Maybe we all have to wait till ligit peeps start selling on Ebay it will happen and at 350 in o2 shops they shouldn“t be to expensive.

Hi All.
Well I read things and am humored.
Come on are we all so nieve that we can believe that an XDA2 can be made , packaged, shipped and supported for that sort of price.
Forget about the fact that the old one sim free and new is more than the advertised price..
If the answer to that is yes.... well then bid away.
If you think it is NO then bid away if you think they are stolen units.
Remember one thing .. If the Guy has stolen these units or is handeling them then there is a fair chance he will steal your money too..
I remember seeing a crap load of Mac things for £1000 like loads of them . It may have even been the same bloke.
Personaly I think people like Ebay should be held responcible for these sorts of Fraud.
Tighter controls and all that.
Well a little .. We do still enjoy the Free world though at a cost.
Bla Bla Bla..
I still want an XDA II NOW . Sim free and no ties. Any country will do as long as the unit is in English.
If someone is traveling and can find one Duty free Let me know the price and where it was.
I wonder if we should all wait for the XDA III that will have all the things that people are already complaining about.
after all 400mhz is a bit of a dog these days. !
Marketing marketing... Why make a product that is good and has all the features that everyone wants when it can be made tommorow.
Did I mention that I want an XDA II.
Steve :-)

Went to O2 yesterday and was pleasantly suprised when they offered to price match on the XDA II and even better when I said I had seen it for £300 they unofficially told me that they had seen it for £250 and would match that if I went on O2 400 voice tariff (£30 /month, but you can change after 3 months to any lower tariff). Pretty impressed, especially since the nice chap was a real techie and very interested in the device!
