3. Ein Registry-File zum Importieren in die Registry (in MyTry2.zip auf ftp siehe oben)
Verfahren:
1. Resco-Explorer installieren
2. Mit dem Resco-Dateimanager aus dem Ordner \Windows\Autostart die Verknüpfung "BTIcon" löschen
3. Hardreset (mit Stift ins Loch)
4. Mit Resco-Registry den Eintrag HKLM\Microsoft\Bluetooth\HCI komplett löschen
5. Mit Resco-Registry den Eintrag HKLM\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Transports\BuiltIn\3 löschen
6. Alle Widcomm-Dateien in das Windows-Verzeichnis kopieren
7. Die Datei Widcomm.reg in "My Documents" kopieren
6. Mit Resco-Registry die Datei Widcomm.reg importieren
8. Mit Resco-Dateimanager eine Verknüpfung in "\Windows\Autostart" zu "\Windows\BTTrayCE.exe" erzeugen
14.Mit Menupunkt New->Connect! ....

First thank you to all in this forum, which cooperated so far in a solution! (towa, orinoco, sweeney, JoseF, domloff, blinky99...)
One needs:
1. Resco Explorer http://www.resco net.com/explorer_dwn.asp
2. The Widcomm files (in MyTry2.zip on ftp see above)
3. A Registry file for importing into the Registry (in MyTry2.zip on ftp see above)
Procedure:
1. Resco Explorer install
2. With the Resco file manager from the file the linkage "BTIcon" \Windows\Autostart deletes
3. Hard RESET (with pin in the hole)
4. Delete the entry HKLM\Microsoft\Bluetooth\HCI with Resco Registry completely
5. Delete the entry HKLM\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Transports\BuiltIn\3 with Resco Registry
6. All Widcomm files into the Windows listing copy
7. The file Widcomm.reg in "My document" copy
6. Import the file Widcomm.reg with Resco Registry
8. Produce a linkage into "\Windows\Autostart" too "\Windows\BTTrayCE.exe" with Resco file manager
9. Hard RESET (with pin in the hole)
10. up hay width unit side Bluetooth Icon click and Bluetooth turn "turn on Bluetooth on"
11-wait, to Icon completely blue
12.Auf hay width unit side Bluetooth Icon click and Bluetooth managers start
13.Mit point of menu Tools >Paired DEVICES by means of ADDS Bluetooth government inspection department search, click, passport keys enter and to ok click
14.Mit point of menu new >Connect! .... Government inspection departments select and instructions follow
15.Im Bluetooth manager government inspection department on the card index side the "My Shortcuts select" un lanke click, connect select
16.TomTom-GPS start, when "NMEA 0183v2 Bluetooth" select minutes and as interface "BT serial interface COM7"
17.FERTIG
The following problems exist still:
If TomTom is sent into the background, the Bluetooth connection is terminated. When starting of ToTom however automatically again one connects.
The Headset does not run yet.
Please, don't make a Hardreset ! I mean a Softreset !

Hi, thanks for a good work.

After having a closer look at it, I know now what the Bluetooth Enabler does:
- HKLM\SOFTWARE\Widcomm\BtConfig\Services\0005
"Enabled"=dword:00000001
- HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\WaveDev
"Dll"="BtCeIf.dll"
Interestingly, this is also what's in JoseF's registry settings posted on page 3 of this thread. In towa's settings on the same page, Services\0005 has an "Enabled" setting of 0.
Anybody with a Bluetooth Headset wants to give it a try? If it still doesn't work, we probably should have a closer look at JoseF's registry settings.

I will lika to say that I have the headset paired when I did the copy of the registry. If it can be any help.

Thats exactly what I get! Though I haven't tried the reg settings JoseF
suggested yet.
It interesting that in the connection manager you can connect to the headset, and it rings when you do!
I'm even more sure that all is needed is a simple reg change to get the phone to switch to headset when it rings or when you call.

I don't carea bout navigator! I need to have headset and ability to use my BT access point :)
Ok here is a solution from tes (http://www.ppc-welt-community.info/Community/showthread.php?s=&threadid=37232)
So, if you don't delete the Microsoft-Bluetooth entries and don't make a new entry in the autostart you can start the Bluetooth-Stack you need. For navigation, use the widcomm.
For Headset, use the Microsoft.
If you disable the bluetooth, you can switch around.
Tahnks, tes
So, widcomm stack doesn't support BT profile the way MS does?
I guess, I'll wait for an officila update. I really value having BT headset.
you have to wait until next CeBit in Germany !

Thanks to all who have put the time in to make the Widcom BT stuff work on the XDAII, it certainly does work.
If you really want to run both the Widcom and the MS stuff then you can do it this way. Don't put either shortcut into the StartUp folder. Instead, create a new folder (called BT for example) under Start Menu\Programs and put the two shortcuts in there. Then, neither runs at startup and you select which one to run whenever you want it. You still have to reset the device to change the BT software but this way it has worked every time for me so far.

Just had time to play around with the two BT stacks.
The good news is that you can actually have both running at the same time! :D
The bad news is only one can be enabled at any one time. :(
But this means that you can have both icons in the bottom right corner.
To switch on the headset : Turn BT off on Widcomm(W), turn BT on on MS, and then enable the headset.
To switch back to W turn BT off on MS, then turn BT on on W.
And thats all you have to do!
So not an ideal solution but a pretty workable one I thnk!

Hi ´just you day it is not an ideal solution but a pretty workable.
I did not need to reset the device. I have been driving 1 hour.
Change to bt headset at a custumer 30 min.
Turning back to bt Widcomm 45 min with gps.
At home back bt headset without reset. Its okey at the moment.

Further to this you can actually have both shortcuts in the startup dir.
But this will only work on a soft reset if the W Stack is disabled before you do it, (MS stack can be enabled or disabled).
Also when you apply the enable reg settings (in the other BT GPS forum), on the W BT browser you get a new option called 'headset'!
Though even if I get my headset paired and hooked up as a headset it doesn't work at all.

Thank you very much for all the effort that has gone in to fixing HTC/O2 development problems. I now can use my Fortuna BT GPS reciever with my XDA II with Tom Tom, also I can use my Ericson BT Headset. Unfortunatly not at the same time but it is great to be able to have the funcionality of both. For my next battle will be to get it unlocked so when I am in Spain I can use my Spanish SIM. So far I have been told nope we won't unlock it but I tell them it is not legal and that they have already done it for others but still keep quoting we had a meeting a month ago and was told under no circumstances will we unlock them so thinking of sending it back and buying one from Expansys which are european versions and are UNLOCKED. :D

Its a bit off topic, but I've heard that if you pay for all 12 months subscription in advance they can unlock it for you. Not sure how much of this is true though.

Im having the same problem as mtc:
But I still have a problem ...
After the installation of "MyTry2.zip" incl. all reg-mod's i don't receive any data from the gps-module.
The bluetooth-manager recognize my gps correctly in SPP-slavemode, but sometimes it will lost the connection.
In the doggingstation the connection will be lost in 2,5 min.
TomTom224 is proper installed.
But TomTom-gps received no data from holux-gps
After 2,5 min the connection will be lost.
I try it with:
"NMEA 0183v2 Bluetooth" and "BT Serielle Schnittstelle COM7:"
"SIRF Bluetooth" and "BT Serielle Schnittstelle COM7:"
"EMTAC Wireless GPS" and "BT Serielle Schnittstelle COM7:"
"TomTom Wireless GPS" and "BT Serielle Schnittstelle COM7:"
(PPCGPS208 (TomTom) gives a message: "No GPS Engine. Please re-install")
... anyone with an idea?
Thanks ... mtc
He eventually solved it, but did not say how. Does anyone here know what the solution is?
Thx in advance

Hi,
for all the german XDA/MDA II owners i upped MyTry3.zip on the ftp.
Many thanks to tes for sending me the needed files.
There is still something to do (delete unneeded files, ...)
PLEASE: All of you having a working MyTry2 PLEASE help the otehers who have problems ! Make exports from registry, compare the values !
If you cant replace a file on your PPC rename it (name.dll to namex.dll), then copy the file! After Reset you can delete namex.dll !
From an german forum-user there is a tip:
Not all explorers (Resco,...) show all file by default. Perhaps you have to enable this to see all DLL, ... and to copy them.
Who can tell me a way to make a CAD and Setup for install to make it easyer ?

I found a second source for the WIDCOMM driver including the "full install". Anyone interested in giving it a try? From the documentation it includes all the registry stuff we need.
Maybe we can get the headset to work with this.
send me an e-mail and I'll send the files (4MB)

Hi Surur,
... sorry, but i lost this damned piece of paper with the correct value on it.
But ... i remember the wrong value is in HKLM\Software\Widcomm so
i backup my actual registry and reinstall my complete "old" registry entries including the wrong value.
After that i delete the whole entry in HKLM\Software\Widcomm and import again the "widcomm.reg" (MyTry2.zip). --> it's working!!
So if you have the same problem like me, your problem may be solved in
this way.

Hello
I was very glad to see that some guys are working on the BT problem with the MDA/XDA II. So I installed the resco explorer and did what was mentioned in the forum but then didn't find the MyTry2.zip on the server and therefore used the BluetoothGPS.cab to install the new stack. All right it seems to work but after putting the device off and then on again I always receive the message "couldn't initialize bluetooth"! and then I have to put BT off an on again. What can I do to solve this?

Hi,
I am just wondering if someone could upload an export of the registry entry for:
HKLM\Microsoft\Bluetooth\HCI
and
HKLM\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Transports\BuiltIn\3
also if possible the 'BTIcon.exe'
I am attempting to install the MS stack on an IPAQ but am unable to find info on the registry entries and executable anywhere on the net.
cheers
