+ disappears from phone# when sending SMS (T-mobile MDA II)

Any idea? When i compose an SMS and choose the phone# from contact list it always gives the number only, but not the + in front. (EG 49179.... instead of +49179...). It's quite annoying.

This bug has been going down in tghis forum again and again, amongst others: http://www.xda-developers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3458.

Fact is, the "+" is copied correctly if you use the last name of yopur contact and don't go through the contacts appilcation.

Seems they got a US programmer to writ the SMS application - the don't start phone numbers with a + there (and global coverage just goes from Maine to California).
