if i put only the NK.nb1 file onto the card and boot into bootloader, nothing happens. what else do i need to put on there?

Yeap he needs to use XDAtools instead of XDArit on this one.
With XDAtools he can write to the SD card while its in the XDA
and connected to the PC.
