Hey all, I'm posting this here in hopes that you'll be able to provide me some quick opinions or perhaps redirect me to an article/site more specific to my questions subject matter.
Specifically I just placed my order for an XDA II. I've been researching off and on for a few weeks now, reading forum posts and balancing the early adopter risks with the community workarounds etc. and decided to bite the bullet. As this is my first convergence device and my initiation into the world of bluetooth I'm throwing out a line for opinions, suggestions from the people who actually use the stuff daily.
Short Version
--------------------------
BT Headset: Looking at Jabra 200/250 or HBH-65. Which works best in slightly noisy environment?
BT GPS: Is there a recommended software/hardware bundle recommended for XDA II? (Looking now at Mapopolis/TomTom kits and I live in the western United States).
BT Carkit: Any alternatives to the old XDA carkit? Any compatability headaches using it with either of the above?
General: Any first-timer FAQ, optimization articles etc. that I should review for getting the most out of my XDA II or at least making it more stable etc.? I've found bits and pieces of info scattered about, but a single source would be much appreciated.
*I've been following the thread re: Towas fix and plan on implementing it right away
Long Winded Version
-----------------------------------------------
As mentioned in my title I'd like to have all of those items listed and naturally living together happily. Would there be any pitfalls to watch out for? I'm guessing I'd switch to a different profile when using the carkit vs. the bt headset when I'm in the car but not sure about if there are things I need to plan ahead for for using the carkit and gps simultaneously.
After reading forums/comments I've narrowed down the headset choices to the Jabra BT200 (maybe 250 if I'm feeling patient) or the HBH-65. Does one of these work better than the other in less than optimal conditions (i.e. outside with slight breeze/wind or inside with background noise in a server lab etc.)? Any other models I should look at?
Carkit. So far it looks like the original XDA carkit is the primary choice, any other compatible options I should consider?
And finally, is there a recommended GPS bundle I should look for (keeping in mind that I'll be planning on pairing it with an XDA carkit most probably.)? So far Mapopolis and TomTom seem good, although in most posts it's unclear if people are happy with the software itself or with their BT GPS unit as well as the software. There any sites with comparison articles out there that I've missed?
Sorry for the lengthy post, just trying to avoid the need to clarify in follow up posts as much as possible.
