can anyone help me turn my german XDA II into an english one

:?: please could anyone tell me if there is a way to turn my german xda II (o2 net) into an english speaking one and if poss just to have it running with out the o2 software

The Windows Mobile Software always comes in English. The German OEM is loaded on top of the english software when you first boot the device. To get rid of it, you need to use the Extended ROM viewer to see you Extended ROM. Move all these files elsewhere... you might need them later. You then need the english versions of the MMS and Camera software available online with other ROM upgrade packages. Then, just put the .CAB files you want loaded in the extended ROM and hard reset the device. It will then not load the O2 stuff or the German extensions. I wish I had the CAB files but you should be able to find them somewhere online. Good luck!
