Hello

I was very glad to see that some guys are working on the BT problem with the MDA/XDA II. So I installed the resco explorer and did what was mentioned in the forum but then didn't find the MyTry2.zip on the server and therefore used the BluetoothGPS.cab to install the new stack. All right it seems to work but after putting the device off and then on again I always receive the message "couldn't initialize bluetooth"! and then I have to put BT off an on again. What can I do to solve this?

I doubt that there will be much more support for the Widcomm solution. So I suggest you uninstall it again - I'm not sure, but I think the .cab added an entry to your "uninstall programs". If not, just unpack it to get a list of all the files it contains, then manually delete all these files from the Windows directory on your PocketPC.

Then, check the registry and make sure you back out any changes you made. That long thread in this forum contains a few registry dumps- just compare them to yours, and you should be able to find out what you need to do. The important bit is that you re-enable the Microsoft stack.

After that, check your Autostart folder. It should contain a reference to the Microsoft Bluetooth manager, and no reference to the Widcomm one.

Of course, if you want all that much easier, just hard-reset your device! :-)

As a final step, get Towa's patch from http://bluetooth.i-networx.de and apply it.

Cheers

DO NOT INSTALT THE WIDCOMM STACK!!

You will have to do a Havd Reset. Then install Towa's fix.

Ok, thanx, I will install the program you mentionend after a hard reset!
Hope it works then.

Well now, I've made a hard reset and installed Towa's patch - but what the hell shall I do with it - I need a BT Manager like the witcomm stack supports and Towa's patch doesn't include one - correct me if I'm wrong. I think these GPSBluetooth.cab just doesn't work properly... Always when I'm putting my XDA II off bluetooth is closed, and when putting it on again, the bluetooth device can't be initialized. Great...
Maybe one of you has the MyTry2.zip file and can email me this file??? (psychoquaker[nospam]@gmx.de)
