hi all,

i'm glad that i've found you !

i've got a big problem:

i made a backup using sd backup, then i made a hard reset.
this have i done, because i get always the information that my flash-rom memory is full (store data permanently: contacts, calendar)

because of this i made a backup using sd backup storing all my informations and data on the sd card using this program.
then i testet my pda again, syncronizing with the pc and i stored all my contacts and appointments on the pda.
i was wondering because i got the information again that my backup ram is full.... (but there is nothing else on the pda, only winCE)

i thought "Shxxt" and became frustrated.

now i wanted to write my data back to the pda, because i wanted only to do this test, what will happen if there will be nothing else on my pda stored.

here begins my problem:
i've stored a lot of sms/mails in my pda which i want not to loose, only for this i made this backup (i never use again this badly program!)

i'm having now a 20 MB backup file which won't be written back to my pda. i have already done the following:

formatting the sd card (size 128 MB) using a card reader on FAT and FAT32, but the file won't be read.
then i connected the pda to the syncstation and transferred the file to the card, which is sitting in the xda.
which way i'm going, the xda tells me every time, he cand read the file.

now i'm asking you, how to get the mail / sms from the file.
where are they stored ? can i read them manually ?
maybe i can use a program which can read data from these backupfiles which are called: CompactFlashBackUpNew
maybe i can use a "virtual xda" or something else.
maybe there will be a way to put the data pack on this xda ?

i've testet something other:
having 2 sd cards (128 mb and 16 mb)
i made a backup from the cold bootet machine, which is only usind 2 MB, this i wrote sucessfully back.

but why won't eat my maching the file which is 20 MB ???
maybe there will be a way which i haven't seen yet ??

W H Y ?

i only need the informations stored in this file, nothing else !

PLS help me.

yours andre

You have to use the restore application on the SD backup and do a soft reset to be able to see the information you backed up.
However, if you reformated the SD card you likely lost the information

What Operating systems ROM are you using?
