Might be an idea if someone can run up a re-direct or advisory to this new bbs from the old forum url?

Why? Because I used to come in straight to

http://www.xda-developers.com/forum

but that now brings up a Page Not found Error

Whoops... Error in the redirect script. Should now catch everything (I forgot that many people use www.xda... while we always advertised just xda...
