I bought a Sony Errocson HBH-35, it isn't cheap.... but it's comfortable to wear, has great audioquality, 100 Hrs standby, 4-5 Hrs speaktime...
And more important : It worked ever since the first time i bonded it and has been ever since... No matter how i lost connection, out-of-range, softreset MDA, shutoff Headsetprofile, shutoff Headset itself, putting either of them on charge....
As soon als both are available again, they re-connect :D
And it automaticly transfers the phone conversation to the headset if available...
You don't get any extra features though, it works just as a wired headset, but without cables... But that's more the problem of the XDA/MDA II ...
[Edit: some silly typo's]

I have a HBH-35 which works fine every time even after switching both headset and I-mate off.
I tried with a Jabra and had many problems mainly due to having to have to re-bond all the time.
The HBH-35 may not be the most "modern" but has good battery, quality of sound is excellent and works!! with the I-mate.

The Bluetrek is apparently highly recommended by others but has anybody tried it with XDAII?
Currently on sale for $39 at eCost below:

I have a Bluespoon Digital.
It works really well after you get used to it.
Its tiny, and takes a bit of practice to put in your ear but once you have the nack, its awsome.
10 grams, you can barly feel the weight and it is really easy to hear as the speaker is actually inserted in your ear and blocks out other sounds.
I'm very happy with it.
I also like the way the XDA allows you to take the call on the headset or the phone when it rings.

I´m actually using a JABRA 200 BT Headset for 2 weeks and it´s quite perfect.
The batteries are ok, it´s a pleasure to wear it.
On distances over 5m you can hear dropouts in the speaker, but that might be normal.
So I´m happy with it, especially when I use it in the car. :P

I tried bonding my wife's Sony Ericsson HBH-30 with my Xda II, seems to work fine, not sure if it the best though.

yes, that is the actiontec bluetooth mini headset, I just purchased before christmas from BestBuy. It seems to work well, and is nice and light. I modified it by removing the earpiece (that goes behind the ear) and put a jabra eargel over the speaker (fits good) and that works well. The headset is very lightweight even with the eargel it only weighs 15g.

I am using a Jabra BT 250 which is working perfectly with the 1.60 rom....
I had issues with re-bonding with the original 1.05 rom.
It would be even better if the advanced headset features like voice-dial would be working........

Hi,
I heard some people saying that the Plantronics M3000 BT headset is not compatible with the MDAII although T-Mobile Germany is selling it as accessory and says it is working :? Has anybody tried to bond a Plantronics M3000 with the MDAII?
Question: is the Cellink 6023 the same (it looks absolute identically) like the B-Speech headset :?:

Hi,
Has anybody tried to bond a Plantronics M3000 with the MDAII?
Chris
I have and it works without a glitch. Obviously, some features of the M3000 don't work but, this is down to the bluetooth stack on XDA II.

I hope its not going to be a complete nightmare when I get it.
Anyone have any experience of using Jabra kit with the XDA II

I bought a Jabra Freespeak 250 yesterday, works fine, pairs with no problems and maintains the pairing after turning the unit off, resetting the unit or turning the headset off and on.
Not as difficult as I thought it would be :)

I have a Jabra BT 200, labeled 26B on the mike, it works perfectly.
I can turn the XDA II or the Jabra on and off, switch battery on the XDA II and the Jabra will still pick up the call.
I had one failure when testing after turning the Jabra on and off without touching the XDA II, but the second call worked as expected.
I could not reproduce the problem, I might have turned the Jabra on too soon after turning it off. I believe the manual states a minimum 30 second off period.
It is far more comfortable than any other headset I have tried.

I've tested the Ericssons, Nokias, Jabras and Bluetake GII so far and the Bluetake GII is the only one that works reliably. With the possible exception of the Ericsson HBH35 which seemed OK but was FAR too big and bulky.
Bought mine from http://estore.pressd.com (Australian-based).

Any of the current HBH65's DON'T work on the iMate / XDA II.
I've tested every revision I can get my hands on. They pair fine but call transfer doesn't work at all!
What revision headset do you have? (Possibly a very early one as none in the stores / Dec 03 or Jan 04 stock work)
Thanks

Either of them. It just doesn't work! Takes for ages to transfer the call to headset (the guy on the line is talking like hell, and U just get the last two words...), after a dropped call it partially transfers the call, so U have to have the phone on one ear, the headset on the other - nice, couse U hear stereo, but why? - and takes half of the voice on one device, the other half on the other brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
and it's DARN expensive.
Huh, hate them.

I have and it works without a glitch. Obviously, some features of the M3000 don't work but, this is down to the bluetooth stack on XDA II.
I just rx'd my Plantronics M3000 headset. It bonds to my XDA2 but I cannot for the life of me, answer or make a call with the headset.
1. When searching for a Bluetooth device, it finds the M3000 by Plantronics
2. I highlight it & tap next
3. I enter the bond code
4. I give it a name & tap finish.
Then it asks me, "This Bluetooth device supports headset profile, would you like to set it as your bluetooth headset?"
I answered Yes but I can't do the calling. Should this be answered No?
I originate a call on the XDA2, when it connects, I press and release the headset TALK button, hear a tone in the earpiece but the call never switches to the headset.
I have the green 3 sec blinking green light so unit is on. XDA2 has the blue indicator blinking.
Any feedback would be helpful since you do have the Plantronics,
Regards
Craig

Did you enable the headset profile in the today screen? If it is not there go to settings - today - elements. There should be a checkbox called "profiles".

I have MDA2 with T-Mobile english ROM 1.60.. and I am using Bluetrek bluethooth headset and its great! Work right out from the box. Its also has a great reception and 12hrs talk time(it said on the insert card that came with it) and I believed it coz I havent charge it yet since I bought it. I used it many times already, but ofcourse I turn it of when I know I am not going to use it. I had it for three weeks now and still have a green light.
And the best part its only $41 US thats includes everything. I bought it from ecost.com!

I have the Jabra 250, and works perfect, Bechtle DE does it the cheapest in Europe. actually you cannot buy it jet in the UK.
Nice feature: you can leave the MDAII in the cradle to accept the call
My wife also has the Jabra 250 with her motorola V500

Had Profiles unchecked on Today screen so didn't see it. Checking and displaying it showed Bluetooth headset was not enabled. Enabling it got me going. :D My bad.
No mention anywhere in the iMate XDA2 user's guide on this Profile page and it's relationship to Bluetooth. :?:
Reader's, take note. :!:
