the thing it I have been using XDA I since 3 days ago, maybe I have messed up with phone setup but currently vast majority of my numbers stored in phone book look like + 4 (822) 765-5533 instead of straighforward to me +48227655533

it seems very much american style the phones are normally shown, but I live in Europe and as country code is 2 digit number, area code is also - 2 digit number ...

of course, when sending SMS or calling specific number it is showed properly but the way it is in a phonebook makes it hard to read

any idea how to restore it to initial state ?? I have even hard reseted the device but it had no influenced making any changes to phonebook look

thanx for you help

regards, monika

M$ Outlook (on your host desktop machine) will format the phone numbers in this format using standard USA settings.

Go into M$ Outlook and change your default settings to the more appropriate settings for your global region and that should do the job.

maybe I am a slow thinking on that but I do not really follow on what you want me to do in order to restore to my original settings, because when I have changed my phone from nokia 6310i to XDA :

1. in nokia 6310i everything was fine, in XDA I have just simply put SIM card inside, I do not remember when something went wrong with telephone numbers setup

2. I have nerver synchronized my telephones database with desktop PC

3. within ActiveSync 3.7.1 on my winXP desktop machine region is set the same as on XDA

4. on XDA I use WM2003 version 4.0.21

and now I am having that stupid (for me) phone setup and instead of
e.g. + 48 22 6066066 or + 48 22 606 606 606
where 48 is country code na 22 is area code

I have the above mentioned mess .... + 4 (822) 606-6066

I do not want country code as "4" as it is not my country ... and that ugly area code which is not true ... of kors, it is just visible on my contact book ... and not whilst calling ... that's the most funny part, when taking a number from a phonebook and calling the numer it appeara in a right schema (apart from the fact thta both area and country code are not shown then)

uffffff ....
