1st - great site - great forum - you guys are clever - and helpful - thanks!
I have read many posts about the new 1.6 German T-Mobile ROM for the MDA2 and I will take the plunge.
Can somebody please describe (or recommend a link on) how to backup the device's ROM and restore it - just in case?
Thanks
Tom

I'm not sure is this also working with the XDA II, but try XDATools:
http://www.xda-developers.com/XDAtools/
If you have a SD Card, you can also dump your rom to this card:
http://www.xda-developers.com/bootloader/

The solutions that koponet is referring to work only for the XDA. I do not think (from reading this forum) that the bootloader option works for the XDA II. In one of the posts, someone categorically wrote that the only option is to backup using a serial cable.
Same about XDA tools, but I am not 100% sure.
I would however, request some more informed person to confirm or correct this information.

XDAtools seem to be able to backup some ROM code using the USB cradle.
I have now an .nb1 file 32.243.712 Bytes.
But it seems that this is not all I need to backup.
There are 3 .nbf files in the ROM update from t-mobile:
NK_ MS_ and RADIO
Thanks for helping

it is true that you can backup only the operating system(nk) i use XDAtools to backup my device, but for ms_ and radio_ that is another problem because ms_ is for extended rom and radio_ is for GSM update. but if you restore your backup to your device it will restore only the operating system and leave the radio_ and ms_ the same.

You've found a radio .nbf? This means you could flash write the radio upgrade
I don't suppose you could share the URL of this T-Mobile upgrade? Thanks!!
