Does this new unlock procedure for the Xda II also unlock the data part of the phone. There are people who have bought O2 Xda II which are voice unlocked but data locked so the Xda II can't use gprs.
This is a new concept to me. I can't remember seeing anything like that. So the only way to investigate this is to get someone with such a phone in contact with me.

Whether or not you can use GPRS is a bit in the database at the provider end, and not a lock inside the phone. How could it be? You can swap your SIM to another phone... (It could theoretically be on the SIM, but then they'd need to talk to your SIM using SIMtoolkit whenever they wanted to change this.
And there's no need to do that: the GSM HLR (Home Location Register) has a list of features that you can and cannot use, and this list is checked every time you sign in.
