"Synchronizing Contacts" on soft reset???

Every time I soft reset I get a progress bar which tells me it is "synchronizing connection" then "synchronizing schedule" then "synchronizing contacts" which takes about a minute. If you try to do anything while this bar is there my XDAII crashes and I have to reset again. This wasn't there when I first had my XDAII so I cant understand it. Someone please help! :(

permanent save
unclick the ones you dont want to permanent save

of cause this mean that if you do a hardreset
you loose all the contracts and appointments you have
that is unless you have them on normal outlook and do an
activesync with that
