I have searched the forums for "Caller2Picture" but have come up with nothing. So here goes ...
I have the i-mate version of the HTC Himalaya with ROM v1.52.00WWE. I have installed the gitex update. I bought my phone from Telstra Australia, which has added some customized software which replaces the photo in the default IA Caller ID program with the Telstra logo!
I downloaded a trial version of Caller2Picture. I installed it in the default directory, then copied all my pictures into the Caller2Picture\Pictures directory. I then set up a ring and called myself with my spare mobile phone.
This is what I found:
1. Caller2Picture slows down my i-mate TREMENDOUSLY. Doing anything introduces an unacceptably long delay. If I try to open any application, I will be staring at the hourglass for about 10-15 seconds before anything happens.
2. When I get an incoming phone call, the picture will appear as is supposed to. However, there is no name assigned to the number, so I see the number (and the picture) only!
Because I cannot live with the above two bugs, I deleted the application from my i-mate. I am still VERY frustrated that I am unable to get Picture Caller ID to work on my expensive PDA/phone!
Has anyone else encountered the same problem - or better still developed a workaround?
