Hi guys,
Is there a program which can be used to display running processes, like that of task manager in windows? Also, is there any form of defragmenting available with the xdaII? I have no idea if it is really needed on a device with so little memory, but I have 2 512MB cards which have been used alot. I use the task manager in battery pack 2004 for shutting down applications when you press the 'X' button
Any help would be appreciated.

not sure about defrag
maybe a pc defrag tool could defrag the sdcard if it's in a flash card reader ?

Yes, surely you can defrag the card using card reader. Mine is 7-1 usb card reader. I often used it to defrag my mmc card.

What are processes? What happens when I close them? Is it essential that I close them? thanks and pardon me for my ignorance..

What are processes?
Processes are programs that are loaded in memory and running.
What happens when I close them?
They stop running and they are unloaded from memory (memory is freed).
Is it essential that I close them?
Closing processes frees up memory and reduces the load on the processor (which, in turn, could lengthen battery life).

Hi, thanks jargon.. if processes are running programs then those should be shown in the running programs on the programs menu right? but then I downloaded this software called Task Manager where it shows you all processes and mine has like 20-30 processes all in .exe formats... should I close them? I read from another thread that when you close processes it might cause a problem or something... thanks

You should not close all processes. Some of those are system processes that are essential for your Pocket PC to function properly. To be safe, you could just close those processes listed in the Running Programs list.
