Does anybody know what to do? No matter what i do, the device isn't even recognised in device manager. The only indication of it is "mobile device" in "my computer" on my pc, but i figure thats only because activesync is installed. ive been tryin everything in the manual and everything i can find online, but nothing works. all my usb ports are fine because other devices work in every usb slot. ive done everything except for a hard reset of the xda, but i wont do that unless it is needed. anyone got any ideas?.....please :(

you may want to try reinstalling activesync and creating a new partnership between your pc and your ppc. if that doesn't work then you better start backing up your xda's data and be prepared for a hard reset...

If you are having problems with ActiveSync (not sure from your post) it is possible you have deleted something from your notifications list that is 'vital' for ActiveSync to work.
I got over excited using a little program called Remover and a perfectly synching device was rendered undectectable.
I know you don't want to hear this but the only solution was a hard reset. And I now treat the notifications with more respect. The new edition of the ScaryBear fix gets rid of a lot including the duplicate IA_Caller_ID events 'safely'.
If this is not your problem, I'll retire into the background again.
