Hello there,
I have just got MMS and GPRS working on my O2 XDA. Very happy about this! I phoned up O2 and verified that MMS was enabled on my account, which it was. (I am billed by O2 theirselves as my service provider, not sure if that makes a difference)
Here is how I did it (Note, I am using WM2003, your results may differ if you use PPC2002)
Setting up GPRS
- Start > Settings > Connections > Connections
- Under My Work Network > Add a new modem connection
- Enter a name: <Enter anything, I called mine GPRS>
- Select a modem: Cellular Line (GPRS)
- Access Point Name: mobile.02.co.uk
- user name: web
- password: web
- leave advanced as default
- Click finish
- Click ok to go back to connections menu
- At bottom tab, select advanced > select networks
- Change both pull down menus to My Work Network
That has set up your GPRS connection. To connect to it manually, press the little umbrella symbol that shows your connection and select connect to GPRS. Once it has connected the arrows will appear
Setting up MMS
- Download EZ Wap 2.5 from www.yorch.net
- Install
- Go into the EZOS EzWAP program (not the MMS one for now)
- Select Tools > Options
General
- Select your GPRS connection that you set up from the pull down menu (i.e mine is called GPRS)
- Connect Automatically: Ticked
- All others default
Connection
- Select Gateway as connection type
- Address: 193.113.200.195
- Port: 9201
- Connectionless Gateway: Unticked
- WTLS secured connection: Unticked
- All others default
Push
- Enable Push: Ticked
- Address: Leave empty
- Port: 2901
- Connectionless push gateway: Ticked
- WTLS secured connection: Unticked
History/Cache and Identification can be left as default
MMS
- Message Server: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
- Sender Address Type: Phone Number
- Sender Address: Your telephone number, in the format +44... (i.e +447793 etc etc)
MMS Options
- Message Expiry: Max
- Delivery Report: Ticked
- Read Report: Ticked
- Hide Sender: Unticked
Okay, I think about covers it, those settings work for me, I can send and receive messages on my XDA 1.
Any questions, please ask :)
