Plugging and unplugging charger or craddle could affect device socket
Ihave an  for charging and long life source by using the power pack socket on the rear of the device.
A homemade bed craddle could be confectionned with adequate contacts to power or charge the unit., the regulated source 5v could be similar to proposed by the expansion packs using 4 AA batteries or even a 6v lead battery. The unit would be laid horizontally on bed craddle
:?: What is the use of the third contact?negative center pole measuring lower volt. is it for current sensing?
I have no experience with Lithium Ion batteries and would not like to cook it :? Could anybody with electronic experience give any hints to experience this idea safely . Bottom socket would be used only for sync and so preserved from damage.

The powerpack socket is there to charge a battery through the device. Whether it works the other way really depends on how they did things, but I fear this could be harder than you think.

Bedros, just be careful plugging your xda in to the sync cradle, what you are proposing is likely to work out far more expensive if it blows your battery or a circuit.

Thanks;did u have the occasion to see the extra power battery.
In this case could u inform how many plots : 2 or 3

You are right. The idea was using the unit where no electricity is available.
If the extra power battery proposed by manufacteror could do that, I was wondering if other sources with bigger capacity could replace.

do u know how many plots has this extra battery; 2 or 3 ; the one which is supposed to be fixed on the back with 2 screw.
Thanks
