Step by step instructions?

Is there any where I can find step by step instructions for installing the special ROM? I just bought a siemens SX56, it's locked on ATT, I want to use it on Tmobile. I dont have a serial cable, only the cradle it came with, which is USB. I have a 128MB SD flash card, but no reader/writer attached directly to my computer.

I am unclear on how to install the software on my XDA from my computer. I am a total putz when it comes to computers, so if anyone out there knows of a site for dummies, or would be patient enough to walk me through it, I'd be really grateful. I'm dying to play with my cool new toy!

just download the file ... connect your xda to the cradle and power ... and run the file

To those that run this site- you guys kick ass! This is one of the most helpful, best organized forums I've ever been in. Its a real credit to your software and helpfulness that some one who can barely program their toaster was able to figure out how to change the OS and unlock their new PDA. It feels so good to do it myself instead of wimpering to one of the pay services to unlock my phone. This site has a permanent place on y favorites list. I'll be contributing some $$ as soon as I finish school in may and have a job. Til then- bless you all and you efforts to free us from corporate red tape!

I tried using the xdaunlock.exe pgm and get the error message "error getting unlock code." Can I still use the special ROM w/ PPC 2003? What and how will loading this new ROM affect my phone? Do I need to do a hard-reset and lose all of my data when doing this?

I would like to unlock the phone, but am a bit confused as to what to do...please help.

You need to flash your rom with the special edition rom, once that is done you will have an unlocked phone, you can then download wm2003 form one of the kitchens and flash that to your phone.
