I'm not saying it is NOT possible....

But I WILL say that for 3G operation, HARDWARE is necessary, not just software.

So if it is true, then O2/HTC were very forward thinking, in that they must have included the HARDWARE within the XDA2 to allow this.

Which, forgive me, seems very strange.

So I am sceptical to say the least.

Not impossible per se, but if there is NOT the relevant hardware in the phone, then it IS impossible.

Additionally, as the XDA2 does not have a user facing camera, it does not match the specification standards of a full 3G device, and would not be an accepted handset on the 3 Network, so obviously, O2 take a very different view as to what constitutes a 3G handset, as video calling was meant to be part of the standard.

(Just like the new Nokia 7600 'tear drop' shaped phone - technically it has 3G hardware in it, that means it could operate on a 3G UTMS/WCDMA Network, but the limited feature set itself of the phone is such that no impending or current 3G carrier will accept it...)

Mmm - before anyone says I fell for it, his post is timed at 12.12, and any april fool joke is meant to be BEFORE 12pm or the joke is on the original joker.

So I assume its a serious post.

If not, then sorry mate, but you are too late for April Fools - thats before 12pm only...

another thing about the correct time to make april fools then we are all in different time zone (well we are not all in our individual personal time zone but anyway)

dont that make it a bit diff to make april fool jokes online because
unless you are on those islands in the Pacific there the dateline is then there will always be somebody who's time is later then 12:00

Yeah.

And if YOU never spotted that I HAD fell for it, but then just needed an EXCUSE for me to look really intelligent, then we are equal now aren't we mate?

Seriously though, I guess the interent makes things a bit different, but within the UK, if you are gonna play an April Fool on someone, you have to do it before noon.

But no, I still hadn't spotted it was a wind up, so well done mate.

I thought that in the 12 O'clock rule wasn't applicable in Leap Years (such as this) so you could play jokes all day?

Bit like women being able to ask a man to marry them on the 29th Feb (or is it actually 14th feb - I'm never sure).

Just thought I'd throw that in to confuse matters

not sure about leap years
but the women part i seem to recall that if the
man declide he have to give a 12 pair of gloves or something
crazy like that :P
