I-Mate ROM upgrade

According to Club-imate, the 1.66 rom update should be released sometime next week for those who are registered on their site.

Is that upgrade going to have the WM Second Edition in it.

Great, that's club I-mate, but what about Carrier Devices in Australia.
The tech support on their site in non-existent. Compare it to O2. I have emailed them twice about the update with no answers at all. In the past I have asked them about the updates posted at club I-mate and they have told me that these are for their Middle East customers only!!!???

I doubt very seriously that 1.66 will include the SE functions. I would expect at least a couple of months for them to tweak it for the imate before releasing it (if they ever do)

If the Club i-mate site recognizes your IMEI, the update will be for you. Carrier Devices have both English and Arab ROMs available (only the 1.52 ROM at the moment), so the information about Australian ROMs that you were given is incorrect, gbvb.

And no - despite the rumour, I believe it won't be Second Edition, which is why I haven't posted it to XDA Developers news as yet. I'd prefer to report on what it has when it comes out ;-)

Hi, just spoke with Suzan at the clubimate site and she confirmed that the new ROM update for Imates will be released in a week's time and will have the WM2003 Second Edition. That is great news and looking forward to it.

This ROM does not have the Windows 2003 SE. I just got the device (2 days ago) and I can assure you it does not contain this newest version of 2003 SE OS. It is simply too early for it to actually have it, as it was just released.

As for why the Device came with the ROM and the Club I-mate has not updated their site yet to download it for club members... this is anyones guess.

Maybe they are having troubles in the "Automated download-- Installation fault free as to not destroy devices" category.... :)
