after i had a broken gsm piece after a failed rsu upgrade & after nearly reading the whole forum following leads & threds which none have worked i had an idea, to begin with you should ask your self a question, this is a SW upgrade so why should it stop me from upgrading again, even if i delete the file & replace them why doesn't it try to write the other file, why is it alway 1%, theortically i thought it keeps stopping on 1% because this has the SW piece to open the rom or what ever it stores the GSM unit in, after it unlocks this place it puts the 4 popular file in it, when you screw up in the middle of this process you actually fuck up the unlocking method so no matter what you try it will still be write protected because when this file was intiated in the first place & the reboot happened this file got parmenantly damaged or maybe its not a file its a memory address, i tried something intillegent like i made 2 copies of rsupgrade.exe in windows directory with diffrant names then tried upgrading and after getting to the 1% death message i went back to explorer & initiated the other file will guess what it didn't work BUT the second file didn't stop on 1% it stopped on 5% this is the nearest i got so far & can pass that %tage yet but its a lead for more professional people to try something more professional

Rabia,

I am in the same place you are with the 1% death. I have used the delete the "/Startup" rsupgrade.lnk method as posted elsewhere many times to no success and I believe you working theory is correct.

The target radio files cannot be replace with the upgrade, or downgrade or anything else ones. I am new to the forum but I am guessing that this is why there are posts here about the danger of an RSU upgrade as opposed to a ROM upgrade.

I have SD bootloaded every ROM I can find and this does not seem to make any difference with the problem of getting the radio load to complete.

Should have done more due deligence before I downloaded the exe upgrade from Tmobile and trusted them to know what they are doing.
