Hi there

Today, I received my iMate. This is a really really nice device with enough CPU power and memory for som serious use.

I have been doing a little bit of research regarding how to use this device with GPS navigation software.

Here is my ideal situation:

I would like to be able to use my iMate in my car with a bluetooth GPS receiver and with a Jabra BT200 headset.

Will these two types of BT connection co-exist? Will I be able to receive calls while the BT GPS is in use? (I'm running the latest iMate ROM)

I heard somewhere that Pharos' GPS software can take advantage of the device being a PPC Phone and receive traffic updates and automatically reroute you around accidents, congestion etc.

IS there any of you out there who have tried any of these things with the iMate / XDAII ?

Thanks all :-)

Yeah you can use both at the same time. Dunno about the traffic updates, as I live in Seattle where I get them via the web.

You should have no problems with your desired Bluetooth phone and bluetooth gps working at the same time.

Make sure download the bluetooth tools from the german site, to make things easier....

Hi - I have just purchased the Pharos BT GPS and software but I can not get the BT to connect.
I have installed ver 1.1 of the German Bluetooth Tools.
My i-mate "sees" the GPS and it accepts the pairing code.
The blue light on the GPS flickers rather than blinks.
When I pair the GPS the light goes fairly steady for about 5 seconds and then starts flashing (flickering) again.

Any ideas out there?
