Hi, im new to all this rom upgrading stuff.. infact i wont have an XDA II till tonight  but i hate all the o2 rubbish so i want to create my own rom. Which rom should i use? I want it to be free of as much branding as possible (white boot screen.. or a custom one.. but thats prolly a bit to complicated for a first timer)
Could anybody link me to a working kitchen, a few seem to be broke and i dont want to kill my phone :(

few other quick Q's aswell - what rom do download from the kitchen if i ever want to restore my phone to the orginal incase it breaks.
Can I remove bits off the main screen, i dont see the point in being told my own name in the owners section all the time :P

Thanks
Ryanmt

The current available kitchens are for XDA I ROMs only ... XDA II has a different h/w and ROM image

Usually, there are some s/w links in the \windows\startup directory that initiate those operator's staff ... just delete those .lnk files .... BE carful not to delay other links by mistake or you will endup doing a hard reset

also, if it has a plug-in foot print, you can uncheck them in start -> settings -> Personal -> Today -> Items
