Probably a stupid question, but I found this charger in the parts box and need to be sure. Correct plug to fit into the XDA1 cradle, +/- are oriented correctly, 5V output, but it's rated at 2A instead of the 1A OEM spec. Any harm in using this one?

If you are sure the plug is wired correctly it should be ok, but other pda's use the same plug such as ipaq and it is wired differently and will probably kill your xda.

Doesn't have the PDA connection plug, just the usual cylindrical connector, that fits into the jack on the back of the cradle. No electrical problems with the 2A capacity as long as I make sure the electrons flow in the right direction?

Oops, missed the car cradle bit, it should work fine as long as polarity is correct.
