Panja

Hey guys,
Maybe a little stupid but I need the little black rubber thats infront of the external antenna (on the back of the XDA II)
I lost this rubber and I can NOT stand it....
Thats me...
So if someone don't use the little black rubber (maybe because you use the phone often in a carkit...) and is willing to help me out please leave a reply here.
Or maybe a site where I can buy suck rubber.
Thanks in advance.

i feel you m8
it's almost impossible to get a replacement for that as the normal replacent plugs available are for nokia phones, which are bigger.
what i did was buy that rubber thing you put under items (to keep them from sliding) then cut/sand one of them until it fit the slot.

has anyone tried a hardware store to see if they have any rubber plugs that are 5mm diameter? I thought I lost mine the other day but happened upon it before heading out (lucky day) but I am going to try to look when I go in the next day or two when I'm there and see if they have any, if I find one I'll post another reply.

Jupiter -
As soon as I saw that you had replied to this post I knew blue tack would be your solution! Do you have stock in that company or something, or do you manufacture the stuff in your basement?
But come to think of it . . this is a pretty good solution, and I have lost mine as well. I'm off to the office supply store!

I lost my aerial connector cover about 4 months ago and it doesnt seem to make any difference at all, dust doesnt collect in it and signal strength is just as good so it probabl isnt worth replacing it just so it can fall out again !

Just received the black rubber from Jim.
I would like to thank you very very much for this!
The only thing he wanted me to do as a reward was donate money to our forum.
I was already planning to do that so this was the right time!
Just donated 10 euro :)
Keep the soul alive here!
Cheers

what a great forum
there I was bemoaning the loss of my little rubber bung and I think to myself...I wonder if anyone else has lost one...I must check xda-developers.
Days later when I get round to it I decide to check the forum...and there it is. xda-developers is knowledge
and then feeling like I owe something to the forum, like I've been better off because of it...I go donate.

A little late to the party, but....add me to the list of the plug-less. That hole just stares at me -- like a cyclops that mocks my misfortune. :(

it really is worth going to an O2 shop if you're missing ur bung.
I went in a month or-so ago to my local o2 and they took the black bung off the demo model and fitted it on mine. no cost and I feel whole again.

My old one was just gone when I noticed it and it felt like my XDA II is very dirty and made me uncomfortable whenever I see dusts accumulate in it.
In Philippines that rubber plug costs P10.00, around $0.25. The Store or Company name is Brightpoint. I bought two and the first one sticks nicely, for 2 years and it's, getting stronger. I keep the other one in a micro SD casing together with my other sim cards.
Try this link and see if you have a branch in your own country.:)

Ok, I know this is a ridiculously old thread, but I found it yesterday after i noticed i had lost my rubber bung/plug.
I was wondering were I could find a replacement, when I noticed at work today that my calculator had a perfectly sized rubber "foot" on the bottom of it to fill the hole (This (http://www.sharp.co.uk/Desktop-calculators/EL331ERB-Desk-Top-Calculator/invt/el331erb&bklist=) is the calculator if anyone else has one).
So I whipped it off the calc, and plugged the hole in my Himalaya with it. Also, as the calculator had 4 of these "feet", I now have 3 more spares. If anyone else needs one, let me know :).
Thanks.

perhaps u might want to buy cheap black rubber eraser from a local stationary store nearby (which u often use it when u were a student). use a razor sharp cutter, and shape the black rubber eraser into black rubber plug of xda ii. i did that for my xphone or other pda (my himalaya is still perfect with its original one, perhaps one day..). just make sure that the shape of this cut-rubber is slightly bigger than the hole (u dont want it unplugged so easily). thank you
