xda noob here need help with the signal strength

I have a pw10b off of ebay the other day and it has rom 4.01.16 rs 6.25.02 and the signal never get more than two bars Well ... not never if i reset it in a place with known perfect tmobile signal than i get the perfect signail for about 4-8 sec than boom two bars AGHHH... This phone is too cool to give up so I've come here first please help :D

I wouldnt take too much notice of the signal indicator, in my experience it is inaccurate, if you can make and receive calls ok then leave it alone because messing with radio stacks is not a good idea.

well see the internet is verry verry slow like about 5 min to start to load yahoo... is this the speed of the xda at all signal levels?
I just droped my sidekick for this phone and it would load yahoo in about 1 min or less?
do you think i should try the Special Edition ROM v1.2

I access the internet over gsm and it is very slow, I did see an improvement when using the program on the special edition rom called "ftxPBrowser". I dont have any experience with internet over gprs but i assume that too is going to be pretty slow too.

try this link on your xda from different locations and using CSD and GPRS to see where is the problem
