EVERYTIME I install something from SPB, I have had random problems..
a) XDA doesnt power up
b) XDA has to be reset.

Now, for over a month, I have not installed ANY SPB stuff.. and everything is smooth as whiskey!

*whew* that felt good!

Interesting, I've never had any problems and I use THREE SPB software products.

I was using Pocket Plus.. w/ 1.72 Rom. And my PPC wouldn't power up and i had to pull the battery and do a hard reset. I haven't added any SBP Products and I haven't had any problems. Weather or not it's related, I won't know unless my PPC locks up again without SBP Products installed.

So I guess I'm the 2nd person that thinks that SBP is causing problems. Could be with my 1.72 rom version.

Personally I've had two Sudden Death Syndrome situations on my system (in about 2-3 months), requiring a hard reset, the first running Battery Pack Pro, then second when running PocketPlus 2.0.

I'm pretty sure it's nothing to do with either SBP (PocketPlus) or Omega-1 (BatteryPack).

Same for me went from Imate 1.52 ROM to 1.72 and it locked up on me. Would not turn on, hard reset. I did not put back on SPB plus 2.0 and I have had no problems at all. VERY stable, VERY fast.

Don't know but Im not putting SPB plus back on. Think their software does not like the microsoft service packs that were in 1.66 and 1.72

I don't think spb software stinks, I actually think most of it is pretty great. However I did email them about sudden hard reset syndome and PocketPlus 2, and they acknowledged there is a problem with some XDA IIs.

"This is a known bug that may occur on some XDA2 devices. We are working hard
to fix it in the next versions of Pocket Plus.
Feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions.

As others have said - SPB Pocket Plus ver. 2 is working perfectly on my i-mate 1.72. I wouldn't be without it!

I had the same problem with Sprite backup but found a fix for it. Disable the option (stop processes when backing up) found in the backup settings and hopefully your device will not hangup.

I had a Hard Reset suddenly on my Qtec 2020(FW:1.66WWE)
It was Spb Pocket Plus.

Okay.. I haven't ran any SBP software since my last Hard Reset crash. My PPC just crashed hard today.. Three hard resets in a row!! I'm thinking it's this Beta 172 rom from T-Mobile. :: sigh :: I'm going to downgrade and start using SBP again :-)

I asked Spb if 2.1 has the XDA II fix and they said it did not.

I have been using SPB Pocket Plus, Full Screen Keyboard, GPRS Monitor, since my Xda I, and now on my Xda II with the addition of SPB Time, and I've never encountered any problems with my device that were related or caused by the SPB software. I also use Sprite Backup and dont have problems with it working with my SPB software either, in fact I have tons of other software installed too, and I've never had any problems with the SPB working with them too.

These softwares from SPB are among the most useful and have the highest priority in my software list for my device whenever I reinstall.

I've also tried running it with different ROMs for my Xda I, and the old O2 Xda II ROM asian ROM, and now with the O2 Xda II 1.60 asian ROM.

Not sure why you guys are having errors, maybe its the ROM version you are using, or maybe confict with some other software installed on your device.

I'm not defending SPB or anything, I'm Just sharing my experience. :)

The problem seems to be with the 1.66 and newer ROMs and only happens on the XDA II, not the original XDA. Spb confirms the problem, so that's why some of us are having problems- it is a real bug. I too love their products, but those are the facts. I hope a new version with the fix comes out soon!

On the Official XDA website, I noticed today that it states, that spb Pocket Plus is not compatably with XDA II.

"SpB Pocket Plus
For xda only, not compatible with Xda II. "

http://www.myxda.com/web/template/Shop.vm/category/Software

Its not clear if it refers to the latest version.

Although I have been running it on mine for long time, with no sudden hard resets (just multiple daily soft resets when it freezes - Rom 1.66).

I think that this page on myxda.com is completely out of date. They wrote the same thing for Pocket Slideshow (which is wrong, of course)

My pocket weather is strange: it run's fine for about a week, after which it suddenly says N/A for every new day. GPRS works fine....Reset doesn't help at all.... only solution is to uninstall and re-install... Anyone has this problem?

There was a bug introduced into the 1.66 ROMs (and later) by MS/O2/HTC - if the SD devices (Storage or Storage Card) are polled too frequently a hard reset can occur. This is documented on the Spb website.

Spb unfairly copped a lot of flak over this as a result of Pocket Plus polling for the SD indicators - the fault was not theirs but in the device itself. This is why the Storage and Storage Card indicators were removed from Pocket Plus 2.1 and 2.5 and are now only an option in 3.0 which has to be enabled by the user.

I have Pocket Plus, Full Screen Keyboard, GPRS Monitor, Diary, Tips & Tricks, Weather, Time and Finance all installed on my device (XdaII 1.60) and think they are all excellent products.
